Arsenal’s cult hero who currently works at the club as the head coach at Under-18 level is in contention for a new MLS role.

Arsenal have the best staff possible to them right now. While they may not have invested millions of pounds, they’ve hired people who know the club inside and out and wants the best for it. For example, the head coach Mikel Arteta, is an Arsenal legend and wants the best for the club – the same for the sporting director Edu Gaspar.

One side to the club which doesn’t get spoken about enough is their youth development. Thinking back over the last few seasons, the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson graduated from Hale End and are set to embark on truly successful careers.

At the moment, the Under-18 and Under-21 teams are cooking some serious heat. Part of the reason why the Under-18 are so promising is due to their head coach Jack Wilshere. Those who have watched the documentary made by Arsenal on Wilshere’s work will know he leads with integrity and has a close relationship with each and every Under-18 player – much like Arteta.

Stan Kroenke wants Arsenal hero Jack Wilshere in the MLS

According to a report from The Telegraph, Jack Wilshere is in contention for a new role at Colorado Rapids in the MLS. There, he would embark on his first taste of senior management under a club which is also run by Stan Kroenke.

Mr Kroenke isn’t the most popular figure at Arsenal, but admittedly the protests have died down a bit since he’s been investing in the club more. Either way, everybody knows he cares more about his American franchise than he does the North London club, so Wilshere would get full backing in his new role.

Meanwhile, Arteta is targeting a midfielder who would unlock Declan Rice.

Do you think Jack Wilshere should take the managerial role at Colorado Rapids?
