Liverpool players will blame anybody but themselves for the club’s downfall. Perhaps it stems from the manager Jurgen Klopp, who is constantly complaining.

Three things are inevitable in this life – Death, taxes and those affiliated with Liverpool finding something to moan about. If they aren’t calling for special treatment, they’re calling for the world to stop when it benefits them.

Despite their relatively good start to the Premier League season and remaining within touching distance of the top spot, Virgil van Dijk has been complaining about English protocol while on international duty with the Netherlands.

Quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the Liverpool centre half complained about the busy fixture schedule in England and how the players don’t like it. He proclaimed that playing more and more games is detrimental to the health of the players.

While I agree that there are some matches which are pointless for the bigger teams to play in like the Carabao Cup, this is why the club invests millions of pounds not only into the best medical facilities, but also into squad depth so players can get a rest.

I don’t mean to single out Liverpool, but it does seem to be a common theme that it’s them who complain the most about the Premier League schedule. 19 other teams have to play the same number of games, give or take a few depending on progress in the cups.

In other news, a BIG price tag has been slapped on Jurgen Klopp’s target.

Do you think Virgil van Dijk is right to complain about the Premier league fixture schedule?
