Arsenal “lead the race” to sign 19-year-old Champions League wonderkid

According to a report in Germany, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is at the front of the race to sign this prestige Champions League wonderkid.
Arsenal have had an incredible start to their Premier League season. Although they may have dropped points in games they wouldn’t have liked to, overall they are tied at the top of the table and have remained unbeaten domestically. In terms of the Champions League, it’s been a mixed start, but Mikel Arteta’s side remain the favourites to top the group.
Speaking of the Champions League, there is one particular wonderkid outside of Arteta’s group who he is keeping a keen eye on.
Arsenal lead the race to sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund
According to a report from BILD, Arsenal currently lead the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s 19-year-old wonderkid Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The teenager has been used as a sub in both of Dortmund’s opening games in the Champions League this season.
However, BVB are at risk of dropping out of their Champions League group. In the group of death, they currently sit bottom, having not picked up a single win.
With that in mind, there could be an escape route for the English winger. Predominantly playing as a left-winger, it wouldn’t surprise me if Mikel Arteta had plans to develop Bynoe-Gittens into a right-winger, so he could provide sufficient backup to Bukayo Saka as and when needed. As shown in recent weeks, the starboy is capable of picking up injuries if he’s overused.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is yet to get his call-up to the senior England men’s team, despite being frequenting the youth teams. Certainly, he’ll favour a move to the Premier League, in the hopes of grabbing the attention from Gareth Southgate.
In other news, the Gunners could favour a move for Serie A’s best player.
Do you think Arsenal should sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund?
