Manchester United: Erik ten Hag initiates talks with his “best right-back”
By Kian Long
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will use the international break to initiate in-house talks with the club’s “best right-back”.
Manchester United haven’t had the best start to the season, it has to be said. Admittedly, Erik ten Hag has been under fire given the club’s poor start and, of course, the off-field issues involving him and Jadon Sancho.
According to a report published by us yesterday, Erik ten Hag thankfully overcame his international break ultimatum. It’s thought that he was under close inspection in the most recent match against Brentford, with his job at risk. Thankfully, though, United came from behind late on, keeping Erik ten Hag at the helm, at least for now.
The Dutch boss is trying to make things right. To do so, he will remain active throughout the international break to optimise the allotted time to see to the needed tasks. One of those tasks could be contract extensions for his current crop of players.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will open talks with Aaron wan-Bissaka
For the home country, one Manchester United player who won’t be involved is Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He is nursing an injury which has seen him ruled out since the middle of last month.
According to a report from Football Insider (via 90min), Manchester United plans to open talks with Aaron Wan-Bissaka over extending his current contract. After almost leaving in the summer, the England international has found his way up the pecking order.
Regarded as the best right-back at the club, when he returns to injury it’s thought that he should be given his spot back. As a defensive full-back, he is certainly one of the best in the league due to his unique attributes which make him almost impossible to run past.
Do you think Manchester United should extend Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract?
