3 reasons for Arsenal to consider Gabriel Jesus & Victor Osimhen swap
By Kian Long
2. Gabriel Jesus is more injury prone
When speaking of Gabriel Jesus’ time at Arsenal, it’s important to address his injury history. Last season, Jesus wasn’t the luckiest with injuries. He suffered a spell on the sidelines in the middle of the season, which meant he missed a total of 17 matches for the Gunners in his debut season.
This is a big push factor for Mikel Arteta. Although he’s clearly a big fan of the Brazilian international, he would ultimately like for all of his players to be fit more often than not and so far, Jesus hasn’t painted himself in the brightest light in this regard.
According to Transfermarkt, Gabriel Jesus has missed a total of 74 matches throughout his career due to injury. On the other hand, Victor Osimhen has missed 71 matches. Minimal margins for sure, but you have to make micro-improvements to improve for the long-term.
Of course, this could be due to the differences in age. This is the third benefit to signing Victor Osimhen which we will discuss in the final slide.
