In today’s Man City injury news – Pep Guardiola has confirmed a significant injury blow for his upcoming trip to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Manchester City are looking for improvements in the Premier League. They come up against last season’s title contenders Arsenal away from home. It’ll be a meeting with his old friend Mikel Arteta, but Pep’s aim is ALWAYS three points, so he’ll be making no memories on the touchline.

Recent Man City injury news hasn’t been kind to the legendary manager, though. He’s been without Kevin De Bruyne since the start of the season and other important players have been in and out of the starting lineup.

There’s been another obstacle which Pep must overcome before the match on Sunday…

Man City injury news – Pep Guardiola rules out John Stones for Arsenal trip

John Stones is featured in the England squad for the first time this season. Given that the international break is set for after the Arsenal vs Manchester City match, fans jumped to the assumption that there’s a chance Stones could be fit for domestic action.

However, Pep has rained on those fireworks pretty early on. According to Manchester Evening News, the City boss has completely ruled out John Stones, claiming he won’t be fit in time for the Arsenal match.

Having not started a game all season due to injury, fans will have to wait until after the international break to see the important defender in action again. It’s likely, then, that new signing Josko Gvardiol will start alongside Ruben Dias in the heart of defence.

Arsenal have their own injury concerns. Mikel Arteta hopes that the Bukayo Saka injury worry disperses in time for the match. Therefore, both sides have some key players out of contention.
