Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to sign this “clinical” England international who plays for West Ham. Although, he’ll face competition from Newcastle.

Liverpool have started the season excellently, but Newcastle are slowly playing catch-up as they have also put together a great run of form. Whatever happens over the course of the season, right now the top half of the table looks incredibly tight.

From Jurgen Klopp’s perspective, since the summer transfer window was focused on midfield reinforcements, he would like to experiment by signing some attacking options. Particularly considering the potential departure of Mohamed Salah which looks more and more imminent every window, Klopp needs to sign a wide attacker.

In terms of Newcastle United, they strengthened their winger options by signing Harvey Barnes in the summer. The former Leicester City star seemed to hit the ground running under Eddie Howe but then he suffered an unfortunate significant injury. Given the Harvey Barnes injury, Howe’s shortage of great winger quality has been shown, although he’s making do at the moment.

With that being said, it’s no surprise to see the two clubs competing for the same England winger. According to a report from talkSPORT, Liverpool and Newcastle United are monitoring the situation of Jarrod Bowen. With the 26-year-old in talks over a new contract, either club could swoop in should those talks collapse.

Bowen has scored 4 goals in his last 5 Premier League games. Proving to be one of the most clinical finishers in the English top flight, it’s not a surprise to see some great clubs lining up to sign him.

Bowen has recently been called up for international duty to the England squad. Therefore, there’ll be a gap in his current negotiations with West Ham. We will, of course, update you on any progress made in that regard.

Do you think Jarrod Bowen would suit Liverpool or Newcastle more?
