A certain Tottenham Hotspur midfielder who is on the fringe of the first team has issued a final ultimatum to Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou.

New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has won the hearts of many since he took charge in North London this summer. Given their terrific start to the season, Tottenham Hotspur remain unbeaten in the Premier League and look like they could contend for the title if fortunes continue in their favour.

However, part of the reason why Postecoglou has been so successful during his first few months as manager is because he’s revolutionised the starting eleven. Not relying on sentimentality, he has given more chances to midfielders who were out of favour last season, including Yves Bissouma who is one of the most improved players in the Premier League this season.

However, the rise of certain midfielders means the fall of others. Unfortunately, this is what happens when dealing with a big squad. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is yet to start a single Premier League match this season, making six appearances from the bench. From the player’s perspective, this will be annoying since he’s played well when coming on.

So much so, that the Danish midfielder has issued a final ultimatum to Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou. According to Gazzetta, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants to leave Tottenham if the club cannot guarantee him first team football, with Juventus interested in a January move.

In my opinion, it’s a fair enough demand to make. Last season, he was one of Spurs’ best players so to be dropped suddenly will feel harsh to him. Of course, Ange has to do what he has to do but from the player’s perspective, guaranteeing first-team football when you’re at the peak of your powers should always come first.
