Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag appears to be a big fan of this 21-year-old talent from his Premier League rivals. Will a January move be on the cards?
Manchester United don’t look the most solid defensively. In the Premier League this season, they’ve conceded an appalling 11 goals and in the Champions League, they’ve conceded seven goals in only two matches. Not looking good.
Fingers are obviously pointed at Andre Onana but in fairness to the summer signing, he isn’t helped by the clowns who are supposed to protect him. It’s clear that the Red Devils were in a panic to sign a centre back when they brought back Jonny Evans on a one-year deal.
Thinking more long-term, Erik ten Hag would like to solidify this position for the future. So much so, he has added an “unbelievable” 21-year-old talent to his shortlist.
Manchester United: Erik ten Hag targets Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton
According to a report from Daily Mail, Everton and England U21 centre back Jarrad Branthwaite is being eyed by Manchester United as a potential transfer target of theirs.
Although Everton haven’t started the season brightly, they’ve shown signs of promise. One of those signs of promise is certainly Jarrad Branthwaite, who has been a diamond in the rough for Sean Dyche at the start of this season.
To age at only 21 years old and be targeted by one of the biggest clubs in Europe is certainly indicative of his potential. It will be interesting to see if his party are interested in taking on the task in the Manchester United defence.
In other news, Manchester United have targeted this Portugal centre back, who could sign instead of Branthwaite.
Do you think Manchester United should sign Jarrad Branthwaite?
