CM: Mahmoud Dahoud – Given that he wasn’t used in the previous match, it could be a start for the summer signing in this match. He was brought in to provide depth to De Zerbi, so that’s what he should be used for here. Particularly with Pascal Gross injured, this will be the first Seagulls change since their last Europa League fixture.

CM: Billy Gilmour – One of the only players who can walk away from that Aston Villa with his head held high. He’ll look for a similar individual performance in this Europa League fixture but he’ll call upon a much more resilient team performance if Brighton are to pick up their first points in the group stage.

CM/CF: Joao Pedro – Providing the attacking threat in the midfield will be the in-form Joao Pedro. When he came on at the weekend, the Seagulls began to tick. Unfortunately, though, at that point the game was already set and done. Playing Pedro from the start will be a smart tactic from De Zerbi.
