As St James Park will host Champions League action for the first time this season, here’s the Newcastle predicted lineup vs PSG.

Newcastle predicted lineup vs PSG

GK: Nick Pope – This one selects itself. One of the standout performers in the first Champions League gameweek, the English shot-stopper will have even more confidence with the loud voices of the Toon Army cheering him on.

RB: Kieran Trippier – Coming up against Kylian Mbappe, Trippier is going to have one of the hardest nights of his career so far. However, from Howe’s perspective, there’ll be nobody better for the hard task than Trippier.

CB: Fabian Schar – Schar has been one of the standout performers for Newcastle this season. Although his appearances go under the radar and he isn’t spoken about, sometimes this is what you need from your defender. Certainly, he’ll have a hard night but he’ll be up for the task.

CB: Jamaal Lascelles – Eddie Howe will call upon experience in this match and with Botman injured, up steps the captain Lascelles.

LB: Dan Burn – Burn may be pinned back as he comes up against Ousmane Dembele. However, his no nonsense approach could be the decider in this duel.
