The season just started and  Brighton’s Simon Adingra already showed great football in the Premier League. Reports from Football Insider suggest that he is wanted by one of the big six clubs.

The 2023/24 season started brightly for Brighton & Hove Albion. As much as they lost important players during the summer, like Alexis MacAllister, Moises Caicedo and Rebert Sánchez, Roberto De Zerbi managed to make an even better team for bigger challenges like the Europa League.

Brighton is recognized as a selling club, especially because De Zerbi does exceptional work molding young talents. One of this season’s breakouts is Simon Adingra, who has been a Seagulls player since 2022 but spent the last season on loan at Union Saint-Gilloise. With his top performances in the wins against Luton Town and Man United, the winger is now a target from a big-6 club that is well-known for his relationship with Brighton – especially from the last transfer windows.

Chelsea puts Brighton youngster on the radar for the next transfer window

Talent spotters from Chelsea´s recruitment team were spotted on the 3-1 win against Man United, where Adingra scored his second goal this season, and at the 6-1 defeat against Aston Villa.

The London team is already looking for some options for the transfer window, especially because of the poor start, with three losses, two draws, and only one win in five games at the Premier League. As much as Nicolas Jackson hasn’t got a bad start, Pochettino needs some other options.

A fact that is also considered is that the African winger is 21 years old and the London team has specifically targeted players under the age of 25. Since Todd Boehly’s consortium took charge of the club, he prefers to sign young players and make long contracts.

Although Adingra spent his first season on loan, he scored 15 goals and registered 15 assists in 51 total appearances at Union Saint-Gilloise. But De Zerbi also showed that he has faith in the winger’s talent, as he was in the starting 11 on the opening match of the season against Luton Town and scored his first goal.

Do you think Brighton will sell Simon Adingra?
