Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi faces the very real reality of signing his starboy on a permanent deal after his loan spell ends.

Brighton and Hove Albion are doing great so far this season, as they currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, on course to meet their expected objectives this season.

Although the Seagulls stumbled in their last match against Aston Villa, which wasn’t a match to remember for Roberto De Zerbi, they look in good stead overall.

One of the main assets which help the South Coast side is their immense depth. Roberto De Zerbi is an astute tactician, so having the right players and their backups available to him is of the most importance. A player who has certainly helped in this regard is the Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, who will play at Brighton on loan until the end of the season.

Fati, who is considered to be the next best thing, doesn’t seem to have a place in Barcelona. Partly why he was sent out on loan is because he’s surplus to requirements at the Catalan club.

With that in mind, Barcelona are open to selling Ansu Fati. That’s right – According to Sport, Barcelona will be open to offers for Ansu Fati when his loan at the Amex Stadium comes to an end.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Roberto De Zerbi snatch this deal as fast as possible. Since he is on loan at Brighton, I would assume they have first pickings of Fati. Given that Brighton are a selling club, signing their own future stars is important for the long-term health of the club, therefore I’d be surprised not to see them pursue Fati on a permanent deal.
