Arsenal play against Brentford in the Carabao Cup tonight. As Mikel Arteta plans to rotate his squad, there has been some early team news.

Arsenal had a disappointing weekend as they failed to capitalise upon going ahead twice in the North London derby. But still, Mikel Arteta’s side remain unbeaten this season and he’ll hope to continue that streak against Brentford in the Carabao Cup tonight.

We have attempted our predicted lineup ahead of the match. However, as we all know, it’s near-impossible to predict any Arteta lineup. One thing we can say for sure, though, is that squad rotation is a must. There are certain players who picked up knocks in the North London derby so are in need of rest.

One of those players is Bukayo Saka. While his injury doesn’t look too serious, it’s better to rest him in the Carabao Cup so he’s prepared for the next Premier League fixture.

According to the Evening Standard, Mikel Arteta is prepared to start Emile Smith Rowe in the game against Brentford tonight. Indeed, the Englishman has bee subbed on in the last two matches to great applauds, so he is in line to start in the cup, alongside Reiss Nelson.

This is a great move by Arteta. Not only does it afford Bukayo Saka some much needed rest, but it’ll boost the confidence of two Hale End graduates, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe, who have proven multiple times they are worthy of starting in this strong Arsenal lineup.
