According to reports in England, a 25-year-old versatile defender has informed Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino of his desire to leave the club.
The less said about Chelsea’s start to the season, the better. Even with Mauricio Pochettino at the helm now, the club is still on its downward trajectory. There needs to be a structural shift starting at the top if the club is to ever return to its former glory days.
With that being said, some players are feeling a lack of hope at Stamford Bridge. Although it is ultimately down to them to perform on the pitch, its human nature that they won’t fight for a club they don’t believe in.
Marc Cucurella informs Mauricio Pochettino he wants to leave Chelsea
According to a report from The Sun, Marc Cucurella wants to leave the club in January and has held talks with the new manager Mauricio Pochettino to inform his decision.
In truth, he has fallen down the pecking order quite remarkably this season, so it’s unlikely that the club will block his move from happening. Ageing at 25 years old, it’s important that he spends the prime stage of his career at a club he believes in and most importantly, somewhere he is guaranteed first team football.
When everybody is fit at Stamford Bridge, Cucurella doesn’t really get a sniff in the starting XI. When you combine this with the poor results Chelsea have gotten at the start of this season and lack of European football, it’s no surprise to see players like Cucurella wanting to leave.
Cucurella is an exceptional footballer and his versatility will certainly be appreciated elsewhere. Where will Marc Cucurella sign?
