Arsenal injury news: FIVE players injured as Declan Rice blow confirmed
By Kian Long
In today’s Arsenal injury news – Mikel Arteta currently have five players out through injury, as he has confirmed the blow to Declan Rice in yesterday’s North London derby.
Arsenal hosted the first North London derby of the 2023/24 season, but it didn’t go to plan. After going up twice in the match, Mikel Arteta’s men lost their heads as Spurs equalised twice. In truth, there were defensive errors from both teams, but injuries didn’t help the tone of the match.
Heading into the match, Arsenal were without their two options at left-wing, as Gabriel Martinelli was already injured and Leandro Trossard became injured in the build up. Then, at half time, Declan Rice had to be removed from the match over fears of a back injury.
Arsenal injury news – Mikel Arteta confirms Declan Rice injury blow
Mikel Arteta has confirmed the blow issued upon his expensive summer signing Declan Rice. In total, this brings his total injury count to 5 players. Below is a list of the players at Arsenal who are currently unavailable through injury:
- Jurrien Timber
- Thomas Partey
- Leandro Trossard
- Gabriel Martinelli
- Declan Rice
The extent to which Rice is injured does remain to be seen. Despite being discarded from yesterday’s match, there is still a chance that he could return in time for the Brentford fixture in midweek.
Although, even if Rice is deemed fit to play in this match, I don’t think Mikel Arteta will risk further injury given that it’s only a Carabao Cup fixture.
What do you make of today’s Arsenal injury news? Do you think Declan Rice will be available for the midweek fixture?
