As Mauricio Pochettino prepares to host Aston Villa in the Premier League, here’s the Chelsea predicted lineup vs Aston Villa.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Aston Villa

Starting between the sticks, Robert Sanchez will retain his place. The new goalkeeper keeping a clean sheet in the previous Premier League match against Bournemouth was the only beacon of positivity held by Poch.

He will be covered by an unchanged centre back partnership which includes Axel Disasi and Thiago Silva. As mentioned, the defence hasn’t been an issue for Poch this season, it’s his attackers he requires more from.

This is why I think Ben Chilwell will come back into the starting eleven ahead of Levi Colwill. Colwill is good, but Chilwell provides more attacking threat, which Poch requires more of. On the other side of defence, it will be Malo Gusto who again provides some attacking threat for Chelsea.

So, just the one change in the defence, and there is expected to be the same in the midfield. Moises Caicedo will re-enter the starting eleven after he was rested in the last match. He’ll hope to finally kickstart his Chelsea career the right way. He will be partnered by Conor Gallagher, who was the captain in the last match and Enzo Fernandez, the first name on the team sheet.

Nicolas Jackson will start at striker but he really needs to improve his end product. On the right-flank it will be Raheem Sterling who has been one of Poch’s better performers this season. On the left, Mudryk must be dropped since I have no idea why Chelsea even signed him. Cole Palmer is likely to get the nod, after coming on as a sub in the last match.
