While it’s not within anybody’s best interest to celebrate their opponents’ injuries, it will come as a boost to Mikel Arteta that Ange Postecoglou will be without 5 of his key players as he prepares for Arsenal vs Spurs.

The North London derby is a historic fixture and one of the most heated rivalries in Europe. This time around might be closer than ever before, as both teams have started the season unbeaten and the only factor which separates the sides is goal difference, of which Spurs have stand taller.

From Arsenal’s perspective, they will feel full of confidence after smashing PSV in the Champions League midweek. It was a thrilling performance from the Gunners as all three members of their front three were on the score sheet, as well as club captain Martin Odegaard

Of course, Spurs aren’t in any European football so they come into this match with more rest. However, the injury front doesn’t benefit them in any way.

Boost for Mikel Arteta as SEVEN Spurs player are injured for Arsenal clash

According to Fotmob, there are SEVEN Spurs players who are injured. The list includes Ivan Perisic, Hugo Lloris, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon, Bryan Gil, Alfie Whiteman and Giovani Lo Celso.

The same source claims that there are three Arsenal injuries currently – Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli.

The odds are slightly in Arsenal’s favour, given they’re the home team and have a stronger squad available to them. Coming off the back of doing the league double over their rivals last season, it’s certain that Mikel Arteta will be confident he can get the three points here.
