Benjamin Sesko is off to a great start with RB Leipzig, with the Slovenian striker netting three goals in his first four matches with the club. He moved from fellow Red Bull side RB Salzburg this summer, having spent four years in Austria. Given the shared ownership between the two clubs, Sesko’s move to Leipzig was announced in the summer of 2022, before the player scored 18 goals in his last season in Salzburg. Other clubs were keeping tabs on the player, though, one of those being Premier League side Manchester United, as The Top Flight had covered at the time.

Manchester United went on to not sign a striker that summer. The club had to scramble in January when Cristiano Ronaldo left the club for Al Nassr, with the Red Devils ultimately adding Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley. While it could be said the club missed out on signing Benjamin Sesko, that doesn’t mean the player couldn’t make a switch to the Premier League soon.

Via his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that plenty of scouts have been in attendance to watch Benjamin Sesko’s matches. Romano says that, importantly, there have been multiple Premier League clubs watching the player. Sesko is not expected to garner significant interest in January, which makes sense as he’s only just joined Leipzig, but next summer could be a different situation.

Could a move to Manchester United still be on the cards? It feels unlikely, as ten Hag has already added Rasmus Hojliund this past transfer window. The club is trying to make Marcus Rashford as a winger work, but will they splash massive money on a striker to compete with Hojlund? Arsenal could be a landing spot for the Slovenian star, with the Gunners being linked to other top forwards already. Sesko’s situation and performance this season will be one to watch as Premier League clubs circle in on a 2024 summer transfer.
