In today’s Liverpool predicted lineup vs LASK Linz: Jurgen Klopp prepares for the first Europa League match of the season, who will he start?

Liverpool predicted lineup vs LASK Linz

In goal, it will be a case of rotation for Jurgen Klopp. Especially in the group stage matches, I would expect Caoimhín Kelleher to be the first-choice. He’s a more than worthy backup goalkeeper and it’ll be a good chance for Klopp to grant him some earned minutes.

At right-back, it seems unanimously agreed that Joe Gomez will start this match. He played the full-match against Wolves but since that was a Saturday fixture, he should be rested. The two centre-backs of choice will be Jarrell Quansah who played well on his debut and Virgil Van Dijk, who returns from injury in time for this match. At left-back, Kostas Tsimikas will get his first start of the season to allow for the workhorse Robertson to be rested.

Wataru Endo was fully rested at the weekend, so it seems likely Klopp has him in mind for this fixture. He’ll partner Ryan Gravenberch for his first start of the season. Providing some attacking flair will be Harvey Elliott, who impressed in his cameo against Wolves.

The youngster Doak is surely in line, but I don’t think Jurgen Klopp will start him. Instead, I would expect a front three of Luis Diaz on the left wing, Diogo Jota on the right-win and Darwin Nunez the starting striker. Darwizzy was a sub in the match against Wolves and looked great when he came on, so he should be in contention to start here.
