Arsenal play in the Champions League tonight for the first time in seven years. While the anticipation is building and fans feel it in their hearts, Mikel Arteta will treat this match like he does any other match.

Indeed, the Spanish boss isn’t the kind to get blown away by the big occasion. Learning under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola as a coach and Arsene Wenger as a player, he knows a thing or two about playing in the Champions League. Therefore, he will pass a lot of this knowledge onto the players.

As a man that lives and breathes football, he would have been keeping a close eye on the other matches in the Champions League. Not least for his love of the game, but also for eyeing up his potential opponents to see how they play.

Arsenal are interested in Jamie Bynoe-Gittens

Like most of us, he would’ve been likely keeping an eye on the biggest fixture of yesterday, which was Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund. What caught my eye about this match was the substitute Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The 19-year-old Englishman came on in the later stage of the game and played well, taking on a shot and dribbling with the ball well.

Certainly, he’s one of the brightest prospects at Dortmund and he’s of interest to Arsenal. According to Fichajes (via Daily Star) Arsenal are “interested” in Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, as they seek their own answer to Jude Bellingham.

While I think this comparison is far-fetched since they play in two different positions, you can see where they’re coming from with the English prodigy link. He can play as a winger on either side, meaning he would add some adequate competition for Bukayo Saka, which is never a bad thing.

Do you think Arsenal will sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens?
