Chelsea injury news – Moises Caicedo awaits return
Chelsea haven’t had a great start to the season. This has resulted in many of their new signings being labelled as “flops”, however, it’s far too early, as Mauricio Pochettino is still figuring out his best system.
Thankfully for the Argentine manager, one of his most promising assets is close to a return. That’s right, according to Football London, Moises Caicedo has been labelled as ready to play in the match against Aston Villa this weekend.
Moises Caicedo missed out on the last Premier League match against Bournemouth. It was thought to be precautionary, as the Ecuador international had picked up a knock which may have worsened if he played. It turns out, given his rumoured availability for this weekend, that it was the right call for Poch not to include him last weekend.
The game against Aston Villa is a must win for Chelsea. As mentioned, they have got off to a poor start and they need to start getting points on the board. If they are to avoid another season of mediocrity, it isn’t too late for Pochettino to step up a gear.
Caicedo hasn’t had the best start to life in a Chelsea shirt. However, I can’t help but feel like part of the media agenda against him is to do with his price tag. Certainly, Caicedo is one of the most promising assets in this Chelsea team. When he’s given the full opportunity, he’ll prove that.
Do you think Moises Caicedo will start vs Aston Villa?
