Manchester United had a dreadful outing against Brighton as they lost 1-3 at Old Trafford. Here is the match analysis and Manchester United player ratings vs Brighton.

Coming into this game against Brighton, Manchester United were on a 31-game winning streak at Old Trafford. And, the team that beat Man Utd at Old Trafford last time was Brighton and Hove Albion. Well, history once again repeated itself as United were battered by Roberto de Zerbi’s men. This was Erik ten Hag’s third consecutive loss to Brighton in the Premier League, the only team he is yet to beat in his managerial stint at Manchester United.

Manchester United 1-3 Brighton: Match story

United started the game well having more of the ball but the end product was dreadful once again. However, for Brighton, it was the opposite. The first chance they created, they scored. Danny Welbeck, the former Man Utd striker opened the scoring for the Seagulls. After that, Brighton took control of the game. Towards the end of the first half Rasmus Hojlund equalized for Manchester United from a Rashford cut back. But, the VAR confirmed that the ball was out of play before Rashford could pass the ball.

In the second half, Manchester United looked out of shape as Brighton did two open heart surgeries in United’s defense as Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro struck twice to give the Seagulls a comfortable 3-0 lead. Hannibal Mejbri did get one back for the Red Devils but that was it. United lacked character as their 31-game winning streak at Old Trafford came to an end against the team that beat them last at the Theatre of Dreams.
