Arsenal have had a great start to the season. While it hasn’t been flawless and Mikel Arteta’s side could certainly improve when they return to action tomorrow, the manager will be happy overall with how his new signings have settled into the team. Further, the form of his star players has transcended from last season to this season, so that’s a bonus.

However, the Spanish boss isn’t settled until things are perfect. This is one of the many reasons why Arsenal have shown massive signs of improvement in the last few seasons. With this innate perfectionism instilled by their former captain and now manager, the Gunners will only continue on the upward trajectory.

One chore which Arteta would like to address immediately is to extend the contracts of their star players. While the mood is great at the Emirates Stadium, it is the right time to secure the long-term futures of the best players in the camp.

Arsenal aim to extend Martin Odegaard’s and Ben White’s contracts

According to a report from ESPN, Arsenal are confident they will agree a new deal for their club captain Martin Odegaard. This is after the Norwegian impressed on international duty and hinted to the media in Norway that he was close to extending his Gunners deal after being nominated for the Ballon d’Or.

Furthermore, Arsenal will turn their attention to Ben White to extend his current deal too. This is according to Metro and it comes as a surprise since the England international still has three years left to run on his current Gunners deal.

It shows that Mikel Arteta isn’t just here for short-term success. Indeed, he would like to achieve amazing things with the club he loves for the future.

Do you think Mikel Arteta will convince Martin Odegaard and Ben White to extend their deals?
