Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is known for being restless. Even when things are going right for the Spanish boss, he still remains hard at work to avoid the worst from happening. Well, this same narrative is ringing true right now, as it’s thought that the boss is hard at work preparing for the January transfer window.

Arsenal: Mikel Arteta targets Victor Osimhen AND Ivan Toney

Trusted journalist Charles Watts has informed TEAMtalk that Mikel Arteta aims to strengthen the Arsenal attacking line in the January transfer window and this will be a priority of his. It’s thought, according to Watts, that the two options being eyeballed by Arteta are the £230m pairing of Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen.

With the aspiration of finding worthwhile alternatives for Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus, bringing in such proven quality would surely cement Arsenal’s status as guaranteed title contenders. Furthermore, to bring in two guaranteed goal scorers would make Mikel Arteta a force to be reckoned with in the Champions League.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are excellent players in their own right, however, to be a superclub again which is the aim of Mikel Arteta, improvements could be made. While it’s unlikely for both Osimhen and Toney to be signed (since one of them would have to agree to be the second choice), to target two exceptional players is a statement of intent from the Gunners.

Jesus is very injury-prone which is his biggest downfall. Although he’s a skilful player that gets his teammates involved in attacking build-up play, it’s often Eddie Nketiah with that onus since Jesus is constantly on the treatment table. Nketiah, while he’s great at getting into goal scoring positions and his execution is improving, wouldn’t make it into the starting eleven of most top-half Premier League teams.

Who would you like Arsenal to sign in the January transfer window?
