Manchester United currently consider a winger crisis. One of them is the fault of Erik ten Hag as he has made Jadon Sancho unhappy through his comments essentially calling the player lazy. The other is out of United’s hands, as Antony’s legal case has forced Ten Hag to drop him from the first team until a conclusion is found.
As United prepare to face Brighton at the weekend, I have predicted that Alejandro Garnacho will start as the right-winger in place of the two wingers out of contention. However, even though there is sufficient backup right now, Manchester United are forced to consider some free agent signings to make their squad more sufficient in the case of injuries or suspensions.
Manchester United “could consider signing” Chelsea legend Eden Hazard
90min has compiled a great list of free agent wingers who Manchester United could consider signing. While they are mostly suggestion-based and not based on real interest, the suggestion of Eden Hazard within the list is one which sticks out to me.
It didn’t strike accord with me that Eden Hazard is currently looking for a club after being released by Real Madrid. In one of the biggest flop transfers in history, Eden Hazard went from being a Chelsea hero to being a Los Blancos zero.
Certainly, it’s in the best interest of Eden Hazard to get his career back on track. Ageing at 32 years old, there is still some life left in him and he should seek to end his career on the high it started as.
Returning to the Premier League could be what the Chelsea legend needs to cement his status as one of the all-time great wingers in the English top flight. It might seem far fetched at first, but Erik ten Hag could certainly do worse.
Do you think Eden Hazard should sign for Manchester United?
