Chelsea were involved in plenty of transfer business throughout the summer. We already know about their ruthless spending as this is nothing new, but Mauricio Pochettino also let go of his fair share of players.

In the end, the Blues will have minimal regrets in hindsight from the summer transfer window. However, there’s one player who probably wishes he could’ve guaranteed his move away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah expected to be frozen out under Mauricio Pochettino

Trevoh Chalobah was linked with a move away from London throughout the entirety of the summer transfer window. Even being linked with a late move to either Bayern Munich or Nottingham Forest on deadline day. Ultimately, though, Chalobah failed to get his move away and will instead play the opening half of the season under Mauricio Pochettino – Or so he thought.

According to Evening Standard (via 90min) it’s likely that Trevoh Chalobah will be “frozen out” at Chelsea this season. Furthermore, it’s likely he’ll be sold in January, since he failed to pick up a move away throughout summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has no plans for the 24-year-old defender. As demonstrated this season, Pochettino would prefer to play Levi Colwill in this position. The Blues haven’s started this season off well, but it’s more of a testament to their attack being poor than their defence being weak. With that being said, I can’t see Chalobah returning to the first team anytime soon.

Do you think Trevoh Chalobah will start for Chelsea anytime soon?
