Chelsea have spent big in the last couple of years. I would say they’ve spent well, but the jury is still out on a lot of their signings. In truth, there’s only been one big money signing that has paid dividends and that’s Enzo Fernandez.

But the Blues show no signs of stopping this trend. In fact, the Blues are already planning ahead to future transfer windows to fulfil their spending addiction, with the Premier League transfer window closing just recently.

Chelsea are the favourites to sign Victor Osimhen

According to a new report from Football Transfers, Chelsea are the favourites to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli next summer. It’s thought that their London rivals Arsenal have also inquired about the signing, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side are set to land the star player.

Victor Osimhen was thought to be the talk of the summer. However, he ended up devoting his time to the Serie A champions Napoli instead. When it looked likely that Chelsea or Manchester United would end up signing him, the Nigerian stayed put.

But this doesn’t mean that Todd Boehly has lost hope in this pursuit. Instead, he will invest heavily once more by signing one of the best players in the world, Osimhen.

Certainly, there are structural issues at Chelsea. It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem which has resulted in their recent turmoil, but it’s certainly a plague which has infected every department of the club. The way that Todd Boehly sees the solution is to sign more players.

The attack is not up to standard at Stamford Bridge, despite heavy investments in this position throughout summer. Of course, Victor Osimhen guarantees you goals, but it could depend on whether the Blues qualify for the Champions League as to whether or not he will sign.
