West Ham suffer a HUGE blow to sign their former player for free
By Kian Long
West Ham United are interested in signing the free agent Jesse Lingard. As we reported yesterday, the former Hammer who spent time on loan under David Moyes, is being considered as a short-term signing for West Ham. He has been training in London, but this was originally for fitness reasons, however, he seems to have impressed, because Moyes is willing to sign him.
While the deal will just be for one year, it would give Lingard the perfect opportunity to pick up where he left off when he last played for the Hammers. Already, he’s a fan favourite since he scored plenty of goals and provided assists while he was last a West Ham player.
West Ham United in a three horse race for Jesse Lingard
However, it’s thought that David Moyes has suffered a big blow in his pursuit to sign Jesse Lingard. According to Football Insider, there is now a three horse race for the player, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce also interested in signing him.
Jesse Lingard, who has played for a handful of Premier League clubs, may be entertained by the prospect of a new challenge in the Turkish league. However, this is only my opinion but I feel like he would be more inclined to stay in familiar settings by signing for West Ham.
As a player who has won the Europa League before, it would be good to see him as a key figurehead in West Ham’s campaign to win the European title. Although, they face BIG competition in the way of Liverpool, who also qualified for the second tier of European football after missing out on the Champions League.
Do you think Jesse Lingard will sign for West Ham, Fenerbahce or Galatasaray?
