Manchester United fans are eagerly waiting for Glazers to sell the club. However, last week, news broke that the Glazer family will pull the club off the market. This was heartbreaking for Man Utd fans. Since 2005, the ‘Glazers Out’ protests have been going on and once that news broke, more protests are getting planned. It’s like now or never for Manchester United fans. However, the recent Man Utd takeover news shed light on what is actually happening with the Man United takeover.
Raine group set the deadline for Man Utd takeover
The Raine group handled the sale of Chelsea wonderfully. They are one of the most reputed investment banks in the world. This Man Utd takeover saga has been going on for months now. And, it is frustrating for fans and people involved in it other than the Glazers.
However, the Raine group has decided that it is time to conclude this process. They have set a deadline for November according to 90min. This is expected to be a soft deadline and the deal may not happen in November as well. Glazers want to delay the deal as they want £10bn.
£6bn is not enough for the Glazers to sell Manchester United
When this Man Utd takeover saga began, it was reported that the Glazers wanted around £6bn to £7bn to sell the club. But now, this amount will not be enough for Manchester United as the Glazers want more. And, they have their logic behind this.
Glazers saw the NFL team Dallas Cowboys getting sold for £7.7bn. And, for the Glazers, Man United are on the same or even bigger level than the NFL team. Therefore, they want more than £7.7bn to sell the club. Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are still waiting to buy the club.
