Manchester United announce Champions League squad for group stage

Manchester United will be playing in the UEFA Champions League group stage this season. It will be the 25th time that Man Utd will participate in Europe’s premier competition. The last time when United participated, they were knocked out in the round of 16 by Atletico Madrid. This time Man Utd will face Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, and FC Copenhagen in the group stage.

United will kick off their campaign with a trip to Allianz Arena where they will face Bayern Munich on 20th September. But before that, Manchester United has officially announced their 25-member squad for the Champions League group stage. The squad has ‘A List’ players along with ‘club-trained’ and ‘association-trained’ players.

There will also be a ‘B List’ which will have current academy players. Alejandro Garnacho will feature in the ‘B List’ along with Hannibal Mejbri. The ‘B List’ will be confirmed before the first game against Bayern Munich. Also, Manchester United can update the ‘B List’ with academy players before each group stage match.

Defensive squad

Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Sergio Reguilon, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Midfield squad

Sofyan Amrabat, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Mason Mount

Forward squad

Antony, Jadon Sancho, Facundo Pellistri, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United’s recent signings have made it to the Champions League squad along with Jadon Sancho who is having some issues with the manager, Erik ten Hag. Donny van de Beek has been left out of the squad as he is looking to leave the club with Turkey or Saudi Arabia looking as a probable destination for the Dutch midfielder.
