Since the Glazer family takeover of Manchester United in 2005, there has been a common chant everywhere Man Utd play. However, surprisingly, at times, these chants disappear from the social media posts from Man United’s official social media handles.

Man Utd fans have been vocal about this censorship of the club when it comes to anti-Glazer chants. Glazers wanted to sell the club in November 2022 but now, they are backing off from doing a deal with either Sir Jim Ratcliffe or Sheikh Jassim. This is making United fans frustrated.

The “Glazer Out” movement is something that United fans are involved from all over the world. The protests have been there in front of Old Trafford for a long time. It has been close to two decades that fans want the Glazer family out of the club.

However, with the censorship of the club and reluctance to sell from Avram and Joel Glazer, it doesn’t seem that Manchester United will be sold within the coming months. Addressing this issue, Daniel Taylor from The Athletic wrote an article about Man Utd censoring anti-Glazer chants.

Manchester United want to make people believe fans are happy

Daniel Taylor gave three recent examples where Manchester United fans accused the club of turning down the volume for Anti-Glazer chants. He has given three examples of this happening, one of which was when Casemiro was unveiled at Old Trafford.

Many United fans are vocal about this. They complain that the club wants to make the global fan base believe everything is going well at the club. However, Man Utd officials deny censoring fan chants. According to a Man United spokesman, “We respect fans’ opinions and their right to express them peacefully. We do not have a policy of censoring audio, other than to remove offensive language to protect younger fans.” (Source)
