Mason Greenwood signs for Getafe on loan from Manchester United
One of the most promising talents from Manchester United youth academy, Mason Greenwood has left the club to join Getafe on loan. However, he could be back at United next season as it is a loan for a year. He was suspended from the club after news about him came out in the media. Mason was arrested and released after a trial. Man Utd also conducted an internal trial on him and he wasn’t found guilty. But, Man United couldn’t afford to have him back in the squad although some people wanted him back.
Manchester United fans didn’t want Mason Greenwood back
It is fair to say that a large number of Manchester United fans didn’t want Mason Greenwood back at the club. However, there was a small section of the fanbase that did want him back. Still, the majority of the fansbase didn’t want Mason at the club. And, thus, the decision was made that Greenwood would no longer play for Man Utd.
Getafe signed Mason Greenwood after the Lazio deal collapsed
Very few clubs wanted to have Mason Greenwood in their team. Talks between Lazio and Manchester United were very advanced. However, for some reason, on the transfer deadline day, the deal collapsed. Getafe swooped in and signed the player very quickly. When Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal, Man Utd fans found that Mason had finally left the club.
Fans wanted a permanent move but a loan deal was what they got. United fans left furious when they found that the club would pay the majority of his wages. It shows how incompetent Richard Arnold and John Murtough are.
