For close to two decades, Manchester United fans wanted to get rid of the Glazer family from their club. As per United fans, the Glazer family represented everything that was wrong with their club. It is fair to say that Man Utd is no longer a football club under the Glazer regime as it has become a business organization. The Glazer family bought the club in debt and never repaid it. This was the worst thing that could happen to Manchester United. Once they bought the club, the downfall began. However, after spending £1 billion on players, they couldn’t find the right players and their decision to buy players was always for business and not for football reasons.

The Glazers want £10 billion for Manchester United

In November 2022, the Glazer family hired the Raine group that conducted the selling of Chelsea and announced that they were looking for investors. Manchester United fans thought that the Glazers would sell the club now. The two major bidders for the club were Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani from Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the British billionaire.

After several rounds of bidding, Sheikh Jassim emerged as the favourite to get the club and Man Utd fans were happy to have a wealthy owner like him. Glazers wanted £7 billion and what Sheikh Jassim offered was significantly lower than that. Radcliffe on the other hand wanted to become the majority shareholder and not buy the entire club.

Fans were waiting eagerly to understand what would happen. Recently, the Daily Mail reported that the sale is off. Glazers will not sell Manchester United unless they get £10 billion. They are ready to wait until 2025 to get what they want.
