Finally, Manchester United fans can feel relieved because now, they have a proper left-back at their club. After injuries to Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw, United had to play Diogo Dalot as left-back. Alvaro Fernandez, the Spaniard, is another left-back at the club. But, the 20-year-old is yet to gain the trust of the manager. So, Man Utd had to go into the transfer market to sign a new left-back. Luke Shaw will be out till November at least.

When Malacia will come back is still unknown. So, a left-back became a priority although Ten Hag wants a midfielder. Man United will look to sign a midfielder in the final hours of the transfer window, preferably Sofyan Amrabat. However, United fans can rejoice as they have the left-back they wanted to have a couple of years back at the club.

Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United deal done!

The year when Sergio Reguilon signed for Spurs, he was the preferred left-back for Manchester United. However, things didn’t go well between United and Real Madrid during negotiations and as a result, he moved to Spurs. He had good performances for the Spurs. Later, they signed him permanently.

However, due to managerial changes at Spurs, Sergio Reguilon was out of favour. Therefore, Spurs were looking to loan him off and Manchester United came in with the offer. United’s preferred choice was Marc Cucurella who was very close to joining the Red Devils.

However, as he played in the Carabao Cup tie for Chelsea, things became a bit complicated for Man Utd and thus, the negotiations collapsed. After that, Man United moved swiftly and started negotiating for Sergio Reguilon with Tottenham and the deal was struck in no time with Fabrizio Romano confirming with a “Here We Go!”

Sergio Reguilon medical done at Manchester United

Things moved so quickly that Sergio Reguilon even had his medical at Manchester United as soon as the deal was done between the two clubs. Here is one thing that every United fan should know about this deal. There is a clause in this deal that will allow Man Utd to break the loan deal in January in case they don’t need Reguilon anymore. This clause was also one reason why Man Utd and Chelsea couldn’t come to terms for Cucurella.
