It’s transfer deadline day, which is never usually an exciting day for Spurs fans. While they have made some great signings this summer and overcome the adversity from losing Harry Kane, Daniel Levy has never been the kind to pump money into the squad where it isn’t necessary. With that being said, a deal for Brennan Johnson looks to light up deadline day this year for Spurs.

But alongside the new signings, new manager Ange Postecoglou has had to deal with players leaving the club. Unfortunately, it’s the reality for a lot of players that Spurs is a stepping-stone club before they go on to win trophies elsewhere.

Thankfully for the Australian manager, though, his preparation for the remainder of the season has been made easier from an interested club not being able to meet the demands for one of his most important players.

Spurs will not sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with current conditions

That’s right – According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, with the current conditions of Atletico Madrid’s opening bid, Spurs will not sell them Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. It’s thought that the opening verbal bid from the football capital is not enough to convince Spurs to part ways with Hojbjerg.

It’s likely that being this late into the transfer window is playing its role here. Of course, Hojbjerg is an important player when he’s fit so it wouldn’t be great for Ange to lose him and not have time to bring in a replacement. Therefore, you can understand why the North London side are holding out for a much larger fee than they’re being offered.

Do you think Atletico Madrid will get their man or will Ange hold firm?
