For Chelsea, this has been a hectic summer transfer window. Welcoming the new manager Mauricio Pochettino has resulted in Todd Boehly doing what he does best – Spending above the odds on more players than he needs.

Jokes aside, it’s been a good transfer window for Chelsea. If the players they had signed went to better clubs, they would be unreal signings.

But the transfer window is not over and, in fact, it’s reached the peak. Deadline day is among us and fans are bombarded with some insane transfer stories. For Chelsea, though, today is mainly about selling players.

We reported earlier that Trevoh Chalobah was pushing for a late move to Bayern Munich. Well, he’s not the only young defender who could obtain a last minute move away from Stamford Bridge.

Burnley agree a £31.5m package deal for Chelsea youngster Ian Maatsen

According to the expert Fabrizio Romano, Burnley have agreed a big £31.5m package deal with Chelsea for the signing of their young defender Ian Maatsen. The 21-year-old is believed to have a sell-on-clause included within his package, which would benefit Todd Boehly if he lives up to his insane potential.

From the player’s perspective, this is a great move. Playing under the defensive legend Vincent Kompany, he is bound to learn a thing or two. Furthermore, Burnley are expected to stay in the Premier League so he’s likely to be there at least for the mid-term future.

And I bet the feeling is reciprocated. Vincent Kompany should be excited to manage the versatile defender who is hungry to succeed. He is able to play as a left-back or left-midfielder, so will be of benefit to Kompany when it comes to squad rotation.
