Having started the season well, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag would like to bring in a couple of new additions before the transfer window closes to tighten any loose bolts.

Manchester United have made quite the habit of targeting players without making moves for them. While their search for a goalkeeper wasn’t urgent until Dean Henderson was confirmed to leave, they should’ve had this down as an inevitability.

Now, in the final couple of days in the transfer window, Erik ten Hag finds himself completing the tasks he should’ve completed a long time ago. The club must sign a backup midfielder and a backup goalkeeper if they are to continue their push for the title this season.

On the goalkeeping aspect, there are a few options for Manchester United to consider. However, one of them may be on his way to a different Premier League club.

Manchester United target Odisseas Vlachodimos agrees terms with Nottingham Forest

That’s right. If reports from Fabrizio Romano are to be believed (and they almost always are), Odisseas Vlachodimos has agreed with personal terms to join Nottingham Forest. The Benfica goalkeeper was the earliest backup goalkeeper target for Manchester United, but they appear to have lost interest in him over the last couple of weeks.

Now, Manchester United must get a move on. I’m sure they know this better than anyone, but they aren’t gaining any time in the transfer window. They cannot continue to repeat the same mistakes, as signing a backup goalkeeper is essential, particularly with their involvement in the Champions League this season.

Who do you think Manchester United will sign as their backup goalkeeper and backup midfielder?
