Fulham have had a productive transfer window so far. Not only have they strengthened their defence, forward and backup goalkeeper, but they have managed to keep ahold of their best players.

There were talks quite early into the window which linked their best player Joao Palhinha with a move away. Of the interested clubs, their London rivals West Ham were included. However, we are now in the final couple of days and Palhinha remains a Fulham player. At least for now.

According to an update from the best source Fabrizio Romano, the Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha is “keen to join” Bayern Munich, as the Bavarian giants have began discussions to sign him. Understandably from Fulham’s perspective, they will only entertain this massive sale if they can secure a replacement.

Replacing someone with the quality that Palhinha possesses is a tough ask at the best of times, let alone this late into the transfer window. Let’s not forget that without Palhinha, Fulham look like a completely different team.

Just this weekend, Palhinha’s important goal got them a valuable draw against last season’s title contenders Arsenal. Down to ten men, it was the collectiveness and improvisation from Palhinha which got the Cottagers a valuable point.
