As deadline day fast approaches, it’s been a transfer window to remember for Brighton and Hove Albion. They may have lost some of their best players from last season, but they have strengthened in the right areas and look like a better team for it.

Admittedly, the fine work from Roberto De Zerbi last season which inspired qualification for the Europa League has been the pull factor for some of the good signings. Well, Brighton fans, I will bring you some more good news ahead of transfer deadline day.

Brighton secure Ansu Fati on a season-long loan from Barcelona

According to the most trusted source Fabrizio Romano, the signing of Ansu Fati from Barcelona has been labelled as “here we go”. The trademark Romano seal of approval signifies that Fati will join Brighton on loan from Barcelona with no option to buy.

Romano posted a previous update on the story by claiming that Roberto De Zerbi was a key factor in the deal going ahead. It’s likely that De Zerbi has a clear development plan for the young winger, which will benefit both the player and his parent club Barcelona.

Since there’s no room for Fati to guarantee himself a starting place in Catalonia, a move to the Premier League with Brighton could be exactly what he needs to get going. The additional bonus of European football, which he might have got at other suitors, will appeal to him as well.

Do you think Ansu Fati’s loan spell at the Amex will be a success?
