“Still waiting” Fabrizio Romano confirms a concern for Manchester United

As the transfer window is in its final few days, Manchester United’s every move will be scrutinised. After Erik ten Hag made promises that he will strengthen the squad, it doesn’t feel like this has been done adequately enough. Luckily, though, they are just one signing away from achieving that.

Ideally, Ten Hag would like to bring in a new midfielder. At the moment, Casemiro is struggling as the lack of quality is forcing him to play out of his own role at times. To aid the world-class midfielder, Erik ten Hag recognises the need to fill the void in midfield.

I hate to say it but it seems like this problem could’ve been solved before the season even started. For ages, we have been reporting on Manchester United’s interest in the Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat but the deal has been slow. Interestingly, there has been a non-update.

Manchester United still haven’t sent a bid for Sofyan Amrabat

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fiorentina are “still waiting” for the first official bid from Manchester United, as Amrabat has chosen to sign for them. The Moroccan midfielder has been left out of Fiorentina’s squad as he only has United on his mind. Understandably, Fiorentina do not want a player in their squad who doesn’t want to be there.

Unfortunately for the player, though, it doesn’t seem like that passion is reciprocated as Manchester United continue to take their time. At this rate, I would be surprised if they even remember who Amrabat is.

Do you think Manchester United will sign Sofyan Amrabat?
