Spurs: Ange Postecoglou offers surplus player to join Harry Kane at Bayern
By Kian Long
Spurs have started the season off well as it appears that appointing new manager Ange Postecoglou was the right thing to do. Even without their club legend Harry Kane, they appear to be doing better and they have the potential to break their trophy drought. Harry Kane has also started off life well at Bayern Munich, with the England international scoring a brace the other day.
With the transfer window soon to come to a close, it’s been an overall positive window for Spurs and Postecoglou. Granted, they were defeated in their loss of Harry Kane but they have done well to strengthen the squad using those resources. Further, with time remaining, there could be another signing for the North London side.
But first, Postecoglou must address the future of Eric Dier. With the new defensive and midfield signings, it leaves the versatile player out of contention for his positions. Ageing at 29-years-old, it’s important for Dier to still be getting game time to retain match fitness.
Spurs offer Eric Dier to Bayern Munich
According to Sky Sports Germany, Spurs plan to build on their good relationship with Bayern Munich by offering them the chance to sign Eric Dier. With Ryan Gravenberch likely to leave the Bavarian club, it would be a like-for-like replacement if they signed Eric Dier as his replacement.
Eric Dier has been a phenomenal player for Spurs and has been with the club a long time now, possessing many good memories. However, as a professional athlete you must be able to step back and appreciate when it’s time to leave a club.
Spurs are going through a transitional period under a new manager. Postecoglou owes no loyalty to Dier like previous managers may have. Therefore, it’s in all parties’ best interest for Dier to leave the club.
Where do you think Eric Dier will play this season?
