Spurs have got off to a great start in the Premier League this season. The squad seems to be ticking and they have done well in the transfer window to survive without Harry Kane. However, they are still in need of an out-and-out striker to come in and replace the goals which Kane provided.

Of course, those are big boots to fill. With the options on the market at the moment, Spurs won’t expect a player to come in and score 20+ goals in his first season. This is why, ideally, they would like to sign a player with Premier League experience so the process of integration will be shorter.

Spurs handed a MASSIVE advantage in their Brennen Johnson pursuit

According to the Mirror, Spurs have been given the ultimate advantage in their race for Brennan Johnson. Brentford has pulled out of the race, giving Ange Postecoglou the perfect pathway to signing his dream Harry Kane replacement.

It’s expected that Johnson will cost around £50m, as this is the financial package Nottingham Forest is demanding. Given that the East Midlands based club has strengthened in the transfer window and Taiwo Awoniyi is in the form of his life, this leaves Johnson with the hard decision to leave Nottingham this summer.

It’s as if it was written in the stars for the 22-year-old, as there is an opening at Spurs for him to ponder, with Harry Kane leaving the club. Although they are without European football this season, it’s still an exciting project for Johnson to be a part of.

As mentioned, Spurs have got off to a good start under the new boss Ange Postecoglou. His philosophy is slowly being implemented and fans are excited by the project he is building. To bring in a young forward like Johnson who is guaranteed quality will only add to that excitement.
