Manchester United are desperate to sign another midfielder before the end of the transfer window. Preferably, they would want a defensive-minded midfielder as Casemiro is struggling on his own this season. After selling Fred, Scott McTominay is the only player left who is specialized in that position to play along with Casemiro.
So far, Sofyan Amrabat has been the likeliest name for Man Utd if they sign a midfielder. But, according to Jason Burt from the Telegraph, Manchester United are also considering a move to sign Tottenham midfielder, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
Manchester United and the Danish Connection
After Christian Eriksen, Manchester United signed Rasmus Højlund, the Danish international striker. United are now looking to sign Højbjerg, the Spurs and Denmark midfielder, who has become a benchwarmer under the new manager, Ange Postecoglou. Erik ten Hag admires the player as he knows Højbjerg from his Bayern Munich days. Eriksen played a key role in bringing Rasmus Højlund to Man Utd. Højlund stated that in an interview. Will that Danish connection play a pivotal role in bringing Højbjerg to Man Utd as well?
Amrabat or Højbjerg? A Big Dilemma for Manchester United Fans
Manchester United fans are among the most vocal fans in the world. They have opinions on everything. So far, the most preferred midfield option was Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina. And, he looked like the perfect foil for Casemiro. He was brilliant in the World Cup for Morocco. But, Højbjerg transfer talks change things a bit for Man Utd fans. Amrabat is not Premier League proven but Højbjerg is. Also, Højbjerg is 28 and Amrabat is 27. Man Utd fans are now in dilemma as to which player they should target.
So, Manchester United fans, who do you want as the next Man United midfielder? Sofyan Amrabat or Pierre-Emile Højbjerg? Let us in the comments.
