Arsenal have had a good start to the season. They currently sit fifth in the Premier League table on goal difference, only bettered on points by one team. This is all due to a positive transfer window, strengthening in the right areas and keeping ahold of their best players.

However, there’s still work for Mikel Arteta to do. What the Spanish boss must focus on in the last few days of the transfer window is ensuring players are in the right place, which means sending some players on loan and selling unnecessary players.

One player who must have his future resolved is Nuno Tavares. The Portuguese left-back has been at Arsenal since 2021 and is yet to stake his claim on the first team on a regular basis. He was sent out on a loan spell to Marseille last season where he impressed, making 31 league appearances and scoring six goals.

However, there isn’t a place for him in this Arsenal team. It remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta has hope for Tavares’ long-term future. This will be indicated by whether Arteta chooses to sell or loan Tavares.

Nottingham Forest could reopen talks with Arsenal for Nuno Tavares

Indeed, he does have suitors. Particularly as the window comes to a close, more teams are looking into signing him. Interestingly, the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Nottingham Forest are willing to reopen talks with Arsenal over the possibility of signing Nuno Tavares. The East Midlands club previously stalled in talks after the deal didn’t look possible.

Where do you think Nuno Tavares will play this season, if he doesn’t stay at Arsenal of course?
