Saudi Arabia club eye move for Arsenal FLOP – Mikel Arteta will be happy
By Kian Long
Arsenal have had a brilliant start to the 2023/24 Premier League season, winning their opening two games and sitting third in the table (only behind on goal difference). While it’s still early days, Mikel Arteta will be pleased with his side’s performances. It’s important to stress, though, that he will only be pleased, not satisfied.
He won’t be satisfied until the transfer window is over, as he still has work to do. More so from the departure front than the signing front, although I’m sure he won’t turn his nose up at the chance of signing more players.
One player whose future needs to be resolved is Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian winger, who was once the record transfer at Arsenal, does not have a future at the club. As harsh as this may sound, it’s the reality which fans must face. Mikel Arteta has had opportunities to include him in the starting eleven but he has chosen not to. Therefore, it’s best for all parties if Pepe is sold.
But the problem is, where is he sold? Besiktas tried to sign him but struggled to meet his financial demands.
Saudi Arabian club could free Mikel Arteta of Arsenal flop Nicolas Pepe
Luckily for Arsenal fans, there’s a new opportunity for Nicolas Pepe to leave the club. According to RMC journalist Fabrice Hawkins, an unnamed Saudi Arabian club have positioned themselves to sign Nicolas Pepe, as this has become the most favourable destination for Nicolas Pepe.
It remains to be seen where the club stands on this. Only recently, Pepe returned to North London as he posted on his Instagram story that he was at London Colney. Still, I wouldn’t read into that too much, Arteta has no need for him as stated.
Do you think Nicolas Pepe will be a success in Saudi Arabia?
