Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been efficient in the transfer window, but unfortunately, not efficient enough. When compared to his competitors in the league, he hasn’t strengthened in enough positions to make his team legitimate title contenders.
This is partly why the Red Devils have had such a poor start to their 2023/24 Premier League campaign, with only a narrow win and an uncomfortable loss to show for it.
Thankfully for the fans and indeed Erik ten Hag, there is still time remaining in the transfer window. Should they wish to make more signings, they have time and financial resources to do it. The recruitment team at Old Trafford just needs to be efficient in their pursuits.
One player who hasn’t received as many mentions in the media is Sofyan Amrabat. The Fiorentina midfielder who was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United just a few weeks ago, has had virtually no updates.
Fiorentina issue final ultimatum to Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat
According to a new report from Football Italia, though, that update will come very soon. According to their commentary of Corriere dello Sport’s original report, Fiorentina has informed their player Sofyan Amrabat that he must reach a decision on his future by no later than Friday. Therefore, he’ll essentially have to choose between Fiorentina or moving to Manchester United.
From the outcome of this ultimatum, Erik ten Hag will be able to ponder his next transfer move. Although, in truth, he has left it for a very long time. While Amrabat was always going to be the last priority in the transfer window, Ten Hag hasn’t shown enough desire to sign him.
From Fiorentina’s perspective, you can understand why they’ve issued this ultimatum. The longer that United and Amrabat leave it, the worse position it puts them in to sign a replacement in time.
Do you think Manchester United will sign Sofyan Amrabat?
