You certainly can’t fault them for trying, as West Ham United have been relentless in the transfer window recently. They’ve submitted bid after bid to try and sign a new attacking midfielder, with one eye on replacing Lucas Paqueta, but have had no luck.

West Ham rejected in second bid for Mohammed Kudus

Unfortunately for fans, I’m here to report on some more bad news on the transfer front. According to the most trusted source in the world Fabrizio Romano, the Hammers have had a second bid rejected by Ajax for Mohammed Kudus.

Romano claims that West Ham is now left in a position of deciding whether to move forward for Kudus as there was no agreement. From Ajax’s perspective, the package worth around €42m was not worth considering, therefore, they rejected it out of hand.

Kudus is certainly an extremely talented player, but if Ajax aren’t willing to let their conditions be known, then it could be time for the Hammers to move on. I mean, if it were down to me, I would push and push to sign Kudus because he’s everything that David Moyes needs, particularly if Paqueta leaves or faces a ban. But it’s not down to me.

Of course, there are other options for West Ham United to consider. However, with time running out in the transfer window, it could be the best protocol to throw money at Ajax – After all, they do have it.

Who do you think West Ham United will sign?
