Everton: Dyche chooses relegated 27-year-old over Chelsea wonderkid

Everton needs to do business in the transfer window before it closes. Most importantly, the manager Sean Dyche needs to buck his ideas up and sign the right players.

Last season, the Toffees only narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League. It would be a surprise to see them benefit from the same fate this time round. Everton sit rock bottom of the Premier League table, with a shocking -5 goal difference. Granted, it’s only been two games but it doesn’t make for good viewing if it’ll be a tale for the rest of the season.

Certainly, things need to change at Goodison Park. It would be unfair to blame the club’s turmoil on manager Sean Dyche since if anything, he’s the one responsible for keeping the club afloat. Poor ownership of the club has made even the most diehard fanbase in the league question the genuinity of their once-great club.

But, like I said, there is time for Everton to exploit the transfer market and being in some great reinforcements who could turn their poor start around.

Everton boss Sean Dyche remains in talks with Che Adams

The latest transfer decision made by Sean Dyche is a controversial one. According to the trusted local source Liverpool Echo, Dyche has ruled himself out of contention for signing Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea, but remains in talks with Che Adams from Southampton.

Choosing a relegated player over one that has plenty of potential and has experience playing with great players looks bad on paper. However, Adams is more fit to playing under Dyche. Particularly when you consider the poor injury record of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, bringing in a fresh striker could be exactly what the club needs. Bear in mind, Hudson-Odoi is primarily a winger.
