Ivan Toney is undergoing his suspension from football, following his betting breaches. Certainly, the ban is a controversial one since the FA continues to allow the promotion of betting companies but will give up on its own – but that’s a discussion for another day. Questions remain over who Toney will play for next and he’s given a big hint that it could be Arsenal.

Ivan Toney hints at a potential Arsenal move

Speaking openly on the Diary of a CEO podcast, which is known for getting the best stories which professionals might not share elsewhere, Toney spoke about addiction, early life and where he sees his future. Dropping a big hint through the podcast, Toney reveals he’s always liked Arsenal and more specifically, how they play and the passion of the fans.

The question which sparked this bombshell was when the host, Steven Bartlett, asked about where Toney sees himself playing in the future. Toney’s response was that it needs to be the right club and one he aligns with personally. Having been a fan of Liverpool from young, Liverpool and Arsenal were the two teams being weighed up by the England professional.

Regardless of the complications and controversy, Toney is an exceptional professional. He is one of the coolest penalty takers in the world and one of the most prolific strikers in England. When he returns to action, he is sure to be hungry to succeed and give back to the people who have stuck by him.

Logistically, Arsenal could do with Toney right now. While Eddie Nketiah is doing a good job at filling in for Gabriel Jesus, there are question marks as to whether or not Jesus provides enough to be the starter in a team which competes for the title. Speaking of goals and assists, Toney would certainly provide more.
